After a wonderful trip to Namibia, I have returned home. Although the the trip was great, I did not get a chance to to run other than a few short runs around and around the block. So, getting back into it felt great this morning. One great way to get energized again is to sign up for a race, competitive or not. It’s great to build community and often support a great cause. The race I have decided to do is called Cupid’s Undie Run.
This run is going on around the country, and little old Mason City is one of the sites! It goes to support the Children’s Tumor Foundation, specifically to treat NF. As indicated, you are encouraged, but not required, to run this particular race in your underwear. I’m not completely sold on that idea, but how often do you get the chance to do that and not get arrested or severely offend everyone in sight?
Given the foundation and the purpose of this great race, there is also a fundraising aspect. If you wish to help me raise some money for the kids who are benefitting from the money raised by Cupid’s Undie Run, please support me by making a donation! Or register for an event near you! Or follow #ImWithCupid, #CupidRunMC, or #EndNF. Or just tell people about the work the Children’s Tumor Foundation is doing!
And, if on February 14th, you see a group of people running through your town, give them a high five (or a hug, if you dare) and thank them! Or, at least, dog let your dogs off their leashes. Mmkay? Thanks!
